The Brails, 4 miles
Thursday 17th February. The Brails. 4 miles
This guided walk goes through the woodland of both Brails and starts with a walk alongside the canal.
The route leaves the village and crosses the railway by the church to join the towpath. After a short walk along the towpath we’ll leave it to head uphill, alongside the field to enter Wilton Brail. We’ll walk along the track through Wilton Brail and across the road to meet the byway and on into the isolated woodland of Bedwyn Brail. Both Brails provide a habitat for varied flora and fauna and are carefully managed to protect it. After leaving the Brail, we’ll return across fields and downhill to the village.
Bring a drink and/or snack for a short refreshment stop on route. No stiles. Dogs on leads please. Route is subject to change, depending on weather conditions.
This walk is free and open to all. For details of where to meet us, call Judy on 01672 870587 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
There’s another opportunity to walk this route in the other direction with Elly on Sunday 27th February. Everyone is welcome to come along to either or both walks.
